The Department of molecular physiology takes advantage of phenotyping technologies and metabolomics to identify the genes and metabolic pathways involved in key plant processes, such as the response to abiotic stress and the synthesis of high value metabolites. The Department of Molecular Physiology was founded with a mandate to exploit metabolomics and high thoughput phenotyping in crops and fodder plants, primarily focused on enhancing the plants’ capacity to withstand abiotic stress.
